Problem:
Use Langford’s bridge and make a space that is visually stimulating and inviting.
Solution:
This problem was solved by wrapping the fluorescent tube lights with multicolored theatrical lighting films. The design executed was two multicolored triangles framed by teal blue pointing toward the center stair. The base of the multicolored triangles would start and end at the beginning and end of the bridge. Thus, emphasizing the length of the brigde and allowing more stimulation at these points to draw you through the space. Also, the lower section of the light is slightly dimmer because it is over a set of tables and this invites the view to sit in the space.
My Part:
I came up with the idea of wrapping the film so that the overlay of colors creates a depth and dimension not achieved by the previous design of just the plain white fluorescent tubes. I also with the help of Clayton Jones designed the side of lights on the left.
