Living Structure

Spring 2010

Problem:

Design a modern house that expresses the concept: Living Structure.

Solution:

This house is capable of being changed by the owner. It has not only static walls but movable ones as well. The movable walls are capable of moving two ways, via rotation or via translation (up/down, left/right). By having a structure with moving walls the house is able to stay at two main stories or open up to four different levels. The constant change in space allows the structure to feel as if it is alive.
